Concepts, Drivers & Techniques

Big Data Fundamentals, Concept Drivers & Techniques, is written by 3 authors: Thomas Erl, Wajid Khattak and Paul Buhler.
This book is a core concept telling what the big data concept contains. Including perhaps all possible terms there are to know about big data analysis.
Opinion
This book is well written in clear and normal language. There are no passages I found too complicated to understand, without having much informatica background myself.
The book is compiled as a normal and understandable schoolbook: index, chapter per subject, definitions, illustrations, cases, etc.
To be guided from noob to understanding the fundamentals of big data, this book is probably the best in his area. Even though the big data concept is a new and fast growing concept.
With the feature to register your purchase, you can stay informed about new and recent changes in the big data world.
The given chapters are all in accompany of a clear and information full case about an insurance company ETI. Their struggles into solutions with the help of big data, shows the what and how for using data mining.

Conclusion
I would rate this book an 9/10.
The full term list and clear definitions, the comprehensive case and the fact that big data is still in concept more than general use, are astonishing.
The book reminds me of a schoolbook ‘Social Marketing’, where every concept of Marketing was applied to the non-for-profit sales world. Big Data Fundamentals works with existing computing skills and how to apply them to the big data analysis.
I recommend this book to all who is eager to learn about basic data mining and is in need to have some kind of dictionary about the big data world.
I understand you choose this book, well written blogpost!
