The first time I learned about Marketing the main object appeared to be the 4 P’s.
For those who haven’t heard of the 4 P’s check the following introduction video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hHtJwTU9kg8
4 P’s- outmode
However, the 4 P’s of the Marketing Mix have to be well thought through, they do not define an entire marketing concept. A good example is the expansion of more P’s added to the basic system: Planet, Profit, People, Process, Public opinion, Politics, Performance, etc.

Another interesting adaption on the 4 P’s is to look at the customers experience, the 4 C’s:
Product becomes Consumer (wants and needs),
Place changes to Convenience (ease of buying),
Promotion stands for Communication (received or given)
Price shifts to Costs (of satisfaction).
New Marketing methods enhance the 4 P’s to the 4 C’s to put the customer in the center instead of simply pushing their products into the market.

The P for Problem
Although companies are still putting much effort in customizing the 4 P’s, there are different departments in motion to maximize every P.
Product is created by the R&D department, Promotion is the communication by the Publicity department, Place can be the salesmen in shop, etc.
The 4 P- Marketing Mix is the base of the corporate plan, enrolled for several company structures.
These structures are in constant interaction with their environment: markets change, innovations appear, competitors move, new regulations set, etc. These changes must all be adapted in the company’s main Marketing Mix, therefor corporations are not able to fix the Marketing Mix for long periods.
Most companies suffer difficulties in communication between departments or with company managers. An on the spot adjustment of the 4 P’s for every transformation in any environment of each company structure is simply not possible.
Forced peace
Business plans need to be scaled to withhold most company problems and make sure every department is able to cope with their tasks. The broad setting and the generalization of the core of the Marketing Mix, is what I call the forced peace of the 4 P’s.
